CFD Modeling and Analysis :
|
|
|
|

|
|
Our
design services include CFD modeling and analysis at system,
board and component levels. In system level, we
provide recommendations to improve the total system
airflow, airflow distribution, and overall cooling design. The
selection and sizing of Vents, Fans, Blowers, and Plenums is
also part of the system level design. We evaluate chip and board
level cooling issues including heat sink design and component
placement. We also provide detailed CAD models and drawings of
the cooling solution. We have access to state-of-the-art
modeling tools like Fluent, Icepak,
Pro/Engineer, AutoCAD and Qfin.

CAD/FEA Modeling and Analysis:
|

|
Our CAD capability includes creating 3D
models (Pro/Engineer) as well as 2D manufacturing
drawings. We also have FEA modeling and analysis capability (ANSYS)
including stress analysis (thermal and mechanical), shock and
vibration. We ensure that the cooling solution we
provide is properly attached to the board or structure
(screws, fasteners, adhesives or clips) and can withstand the necessary
mechanical loads.

We offer facility for prototyping once a
thermal solution is reached. We ensure that the parts are
made quickly, as-per-design and cost-effective. Through
our parent company, Aavid-Thermalloy,
we provide volume manufacturing with international quality and
competitive pricing.

Applied Thermal offers state-of-the-art
airflow and thermal test services for our customers. This is
particularly useful to companies that lack in-house
capability or those who wish to present or publish 3rd
party test results from an unbiased source. Our lab
equipment includes wind-tunnel, liquid cooling test
bench, heat sink tester and data acquisition system. We
also offer acoustic testing facility through third parties.

How Customers work with us :
|
top
|
|
|
Our services are normally used in many different
ways. The customer may get us involved in the early design
phase when they do not have adequate thermal design expertise.
Alternatively the customer may have some thermal expertise
in-house, but would like to use our services to verify their design
and get recommendations on design improvement. We can also send
our experts for on-site projects if necessary.
